Walking

Taking regular walks can improve your mental health enormously. Not only is exercise effective but connecting with nature whilst you’re taking your walk can impact you in a positive way too.

Some of the benefits walking can have on your mental health:

  • Walking can improve your mood.
  • It can reduce stress and anxiety.
  • It can increase energy.
  • It helps you to take time out to feel more relaxed.
  • It helps to promote effective rest including better sleep.

Walking

Create your own fundraising event and raise money for FirstLight Trust.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Walk for 10 minutes daily during your lunch break for a week/fortnight/month
  • Walk every other day for one week
  • Walk a marathon (26 miles) in one week (split this between friends and family virtually or in person if safe to do so)

Fundraising is a great way to connect with friends and family, even if you’re not able to see them in person. Instead, you can come together by achieving something together and supporting a great cause.

Walking outside is a wonderful way to connect with nature and feel grounded. Join us for a walk this Stress Down Day.   enable you to create your own fundraising challenge or donate online via

Any donations made will go to supporting veterans of the emergency services, many of whom are also veterans of the armed forces. Thank you so much for your support!
